The way of the animal world is everything has its place. Those at the top of the food chain have the responsibility of informing all others, including those of their own kind, of where the boundaries to this place are. Many times this is called “marking one’s territory.” We often mock or punish dogs for such behavior but it is simply part of the animal world. Why punish dogs when we as humans do the same thing? It is never difficult to identify where the feet of humanity have walked. Without this simple fact we would not have archaeologists. But I digress. We as humans mark our territory; we leave a footprint for all to see our grandeur. It is in our nature.
A construction site. The beginnings of our mark. The formation of our footprint.
Your explanation for choosing a construction site is original--good concept. I like the graphic quality of your second to last photograph, and the atmosphere in the second image. Good choice of black and white. Images 5 and 7 aren't as strong as the rest.
ReplyDeleteYeah, great concept, and your photos were quite visually striking, lots of them made me think, Wow, this is a great photo.
ReplyDeleteexcellent black and white, i agree that humans leave quite the footprint wherever we go, way to show it right in the middle of that foot print.
ReplyDeletei really like these in black and white. cool repetitions and patterns
ReplyDeleteThe black and white unifies the project in a really great way. I love the concept
ReplyDeleteyour sixth photo with the two windows is my favorite. the billowing and torn plastic coverings almost give the photo a haunted look. it's beautiful and i agree that the black and white add a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteI liked the graphic, geometric ones. Good choice on the black and white.
ReplyDeleteI love the second one. It has a somewhat eerie feel to it because of the foggy look. Great into as well.
ReplyDeleteI like your 8th or 9th photo, they are very plain but also prove to be the most interesting to look at because you are forced to come to terms with the little that is presented. I like the switch to B&W too.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the choice of black and white, as I feel it best brings out the geometric forms in the photos.
