Montre-moi tes chemins, ô Seigneur ; enseigne-moi tes sentiers (Psaumes 25 :4).
(Ésaïe2 :2.3)

  1. I really like the contrast of colors in the second picture, but I also really like the human presence in the second half contrasted with the lack of human presence in the first half. It shows a little more just how different the two worlds are and brings your message through. You really did do a terrific job!

  2. I like the use of color throughout. The contrast between the lights and the shadows really grabs my attention.

  3. I am so impressed by this essay. I think you did everything so well: text and inspiration, sequencing, editing... I like that you start with stronger more apparent parallels between the first few photos and then it gets more subtle. The subtle connections between those cloud covered mountains and the steeples of the temple is so awesome and i love that. I think it is interesting that your first two pictures definitely have warmer tones in the nature aspect and cooler in the urban and it might have been interesting to continue that theme throughout.. Just a thought.

  4. Your essay is super original/interesting. I didn't understand at first why you chose a fence to compare to the tree but now it seems obvious: trees can block your way in nature and fences block your way in cities. Also, the third photo has great composition because the path of snow makes a triangle and so do the feet.

  5. I absolutely love all of this. The mirroring between each shot is so creative and original, but once you see it, it seems perfectly appropriate. Your text does a great job introducing and explaining your idea, and the scriptures placed between keep a consistent tone to the essay. The composition of each shot is strong, and they all have a clear place in the essay. My favorite is definitely the diptych of the mountain and the temple; they are both such majestic photos and they have kind of an other-worldly feeling to them. I wouldn't change a thing.

  6. I especially like the orange cone compared to the assembled rocks. The strong lines and the unusual comparison allows me to see a correlation I would have never seen before. The theme and the essay is excellent!

  7. I loved this essay. The picture with the mountains and the temple just expresses something so deep. The comparison between the cone and the rocks is perfect. I would say that the contrast in the first picture is much less meaningful than in the others. The similarity of lines, etc. is not immediately evident, probably because the nature photo is taken from above while the urban photo is taken looking up.

Tres bon essai!

  9. Really strong essay. I would say that on technical merit alone this is probably one of the better ones. It is clear that you really took the time and effort to capture your images. In addition, I find the theme to be very intriguing and creative. For the most part all of the parallels between nature and man-made structures are well thought out and clear. I would say that for me the first image is a little less obvious than the rest. It may have been nice to see a similar configuration to the mountain path in the mirroring image. Perhaps just a personal preference. Overall, fantastic project!

  10. This was magnificent. I love your use of the daily things that we see everyday in correlation with the gospel. My favourite is the last one of the mountains and the temple. Although I love love love the idea, I think I would prefer to see the mountains portrayed with more light. The temple reminds me to light and hope not so much darkness and clouds, although it is an amazing photo in color and composition.
