  1. My favorite picture in this essay is the one with the reflection of the dress, although I am not completely sure how it fits in with the rest of the photos, there is a somewhat sinister quality behind it. Though i see a definite tie between the second and third photos, the shadows of the trees at night, i wish there was a little more connection between all the rest. I think you definitely captured a sinister side of provo, one that is not recognized on a daily basis. That masked man is definitely creepy!

  2. I really like your essay. I particularly like the last picture, because it makes me think. To me a great photo is one that makes me think. Well done! Very gloomy essay and your choice of Sepia worked well.

  3. The color and tone of the images really help to reinforce the sinister idea, though sometimes the color was the only thing technically that I could connect through all the photos. Overall I too like that I have to really think and look at these pictures in order to really understand the photos.

  4. I like the sepia tone that links the images. Upon closer examination, they weren't all taken at night or in darkness, but the editing of the color tone makes it seem as though they were. Everything about the last photo is great. From its strange contenct to the framing. I'm still trying to figure out what's going on out of frame like whats above him and behind him. It adds to the mystery.

  5. I think you did an excellent job capturing the feeling of Provo “after hours.” A few weeks ago I was driving home late on a Friday night and I remember remarking to myself how strange and eerie it felt. Provo has such a safe and happy stigma attached to it, I really liked the idea for the project. I personally prefer the photos of the landscape rather than the ones with a human element (i.e. photos 4 and 5). I like the idea that Provo has a “dark side” in and of itself, the last two just seem a little contrived. Overall, great project.
