Being from France, I thought it would be an interesting cultural experience to go to a gun store. You see, we don't have that kind of trading over there. I've always been told that guns and firearms are evil. Consequently, I've always been sacred of them. As you can imagine, I clearly had to get out of my comfort zone to get myself taking pictures over there, but I just wanted to see what it was like to sell or buy guns.
After taking a few pictures, one of the store employees looked at me and said: "Ah! Boys and their toys!" and since about everyone in the store seemed to have a lot of fun, i decided to make it my theme. After spending over an hour among guns, riffles, and all sorts of firearms, I am happy to say that I was the only one shooting (with my camera of course). I am also happy to say that no one died from it.
Amazing how many of these pictures had children in them. You wouldn't think that many people would bring kids to a gun store. Interesting juxtaposition.
ReplyDeletehaha.. only in utah... :) or the west... i don't know really, but it is kind of funny to see kids with guns. :)
ReplyDeleteThe kids were one of the first things I noticed too. This is an interesting idea. It's really popular around here. Good work. I think you got the personalities of these people.
ReplyDeleteLets not hate on the kids being there...It is proven that the best way to teach gun safety is not to hide guns from kids, but to teach them about them.
ReplyDeleteI like the man with the BYU hat in the first picture. My favorite is the one with the kid staring at the camera. There is so much going on in the photo, but it's not overwhelming because your focus is drawn to the kid.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are fun and it is interesting to me how much the kids are into the guns.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photo is the one with the blonde-haired boy that's staring at you. He's has a priceless expression on his face.
ReplyDeleteThe photos have great continuity
