I don't know who is trying to be more sexual... working selling cosmetics girl, or working selling clothes girl. Hahaha.
I love your pictures, I think you captured a lot of personalities. You can really get the feeling of what it would be like to hang out with these people. Personally, I think "working attitude" and I might be future bffs.
LOVE the mannequin. It's interesting how that image stands out from the rest; it's the only non-human worker and the composition/color is graphic. You could play around more with the rule of thirds, most shots have the same composition.
I love most of the pictures (especially the three children, the mannequin, and the cosmetics counter), but I don't really understand the concept. That said, you've really captured some fascinating personalities in these pictures.
I think some of the most interesting photos are the ones where the subject is interacting with someone else inside the picture. An interesting topic is potentially broached here, in how people behave towards others when in 'work' mode.
My favorites: The roommate haircut and the date. They're concentrated on the work at hand as opposed to a presentation of that work. In fact, the 'date' is sort of an anti-presentation. The awkwardness of presenting their pretzel date in a photo seems to highlight the common reality of the efforts at hand.
I did like the date picture too. I second Prof. Olivier's comments about maybe using the concept of photographing children in the future. I did agree that those were the most creative of your photos that elicited more reaction from the observer.
Some really great photos here, and the children photos have so much personality. I like that it's different from everyones. More continuity would be good which you know.
Awesome...I love the revision that you've made to this essay. As said in class, the previous entry was a bit hard to follow and now it just makes more sense. Great approach to people at work. Very unique. The text is short and explains well. The graininess of photo 4 is a little distracting compared to the rest of the photos and although she is throwing a "peace sign" I think it would have been a little more engaging with her breaking up a fight or being a mediator in an argument, although that is hard to stage.
I really like how you changed your essay. The concept of little people doing grown up things is fun and funny. Maybe clean up the focus on some of the images. I think that would make them a little stronger.
Way to focus in on one awesome idea. I love how the kids look most comfortable of anyone in their jobs! They just enjoy life, and that totally comes out in your pictures. I love the picture of the kid catching a fish, and of course the last one!

ReplyDelete(Wo)man at work yet most of the pictures are of men. Also maybe keep on one topic

ReplyDeleteI really liked the pictures with the children. I think the essay would have had a better flow if you had stuck to color in all of your photos.
