Diego's

For this project, I decided to go to one of my favorite restaurants in Provo. Everyone I've talked to about this restaurant replies, without hesitation, that it is one of their favorites, too. Almost no one ever mentions the people who work there, but they are an integral part of the Diego's experience. Maybe no one else really notices them because they fit into the environment, but for me, they create the atmosphere of Diego's.

  1. I really like the picture with all the tables and the girl just standing next to one. The lighting adds a lot to the photo.

  3. I kind of like the first one. It's very linear.

  4. The first one works best for me. My eye goes straight to the cook because that corner is the only place in the photo where there's color. Maybe watch out for camera shake in low-light places.

  5. Don't know where you are going with the first picture...looks and feels more like a prison

  6. I really like the framing of the first picture.

  7. I really like the idea of the essay, but some of the photos are really repetitive. Also, there is too much blur in some of them. I really like the picture with all of the bottles on the counter--the color is great.

  8. The additional cropping of the bottle image has helped more than I had imagined. Also, placing it directly above the window shot made it flow beautifully. Was the window shot originally your first image in the sequence?

Also, the pair of counter shots featuring the tip jar and styrofoam plate was nice, the one serving as counterpoint to the other.

  9. Dennis- The window shot originally was the first one. I played around with order, and decided that this order was a lot better (and coincidentally pretty true to the order I took them in). Cropping helped a lot, once I finally found a program I could use.

  10. I really like the new order you put these photos in. It is a little bit easier to follow and your crops are great. You changed it well and I like the progression of the photos now. It tells more of a story.

  11. I liked how you cropped some of the photos. I think it focuses the viewer on the worker instead on the environment. I still don't see from the pictures how the workers are integral though as you mentioned in the text.
