3:30am and I am hungry.
On demand fast food is a common-place element of our culture and society. Fortunately for us, our appetites can be satiated round the clock, and even at hours when all are asleep... or probably should be. I set out to capture the working lives of those who are a part of our societal desire for 24-hour eating and I discovered much more than grainy photos and cholesterol at such an ungodly hour... I found normal people who are just as tired as any of us would be working the graveyard shift and being photographed at 3:30am. I wanted candid photos so I did not ask anyone to pose or attempt to portray their feelings anyway other than what they actually do. There is something inherently captivating with the wee hours of the morning, and understandably there is a catering niche for restless and somewhat crazy people like myself. If it were not for these intrepid workers who allow us access to rather unhealthy options of cuisine, I would probably have to resort to something extreme... like going to bed at a reasonable hour.
