Blush Salon

I decided to document a typical day at a hair salon for my project, since I find that hairdressers tend to be pretty interesting people. I guess you have to be if you spend a few hours with different people all day and you have to keep them from getting bored.

This guy moved his hands a lot as he talked, and I like how this picture captures that.

  1. My favorite is the third down - the man in between the pictures. The angles and the juxtaposition of the man with the photos and the mirror just make this an amazing shot. Well done.

  2. I really like the first, third and fourth pictures. I think I like the first and fourth because of the colors (which seem to really fit the salon's decor). The third one is great because the reflection of that portrait creates two faces that look at the stylist. It's cool, compositionally.

  3. I love how you changed the theme to be focused more on the hair-dressers themselves, with the addition of the second picture. It made me really appreciate them more. I wish they weren't so grainy. But still good composition in your photos

  4. The visual representation of movement in these photos are so cool. It shows the animation of the salon environment and I feel like I really get a sense of the who the people are and what they bring to their job.
