Missed Connections - Jessica Sheridan features a new breed of personal ad called "Missed Connections". Hopeful men and women who've encountered an attractive individual in public, but failed to get the essential information to ensure another meeting have the chance to publish their story in hopes that said attractive individual will read the post and contact said hopeful man or woman. Sadly, I've never been the subject of a Missed Connections post, so I've reenacted six scenarios and asked a male photographer to take pictures of me from my would-be admirer's vantage point.

i told you your glasses were fabulous... (provo-einstein's bagels on feb 20) - m4w - 49

Cute brown/red haired girl near byu (900 east near 1300 south) - m4w - 29

More Red than Brown. We both parked at the same time, and walked into the building at the same time. Your very cute. It was around noon. If the person I was meeting with wasn't ready so fast, then I would have introduced myself to you. When I was leaving I believe your car was still parked outside, if it was, then your license plate number should be ffs406? if you actually see this and that is your car, then what state is it registered in? Anyways, just wanted to say hi, and your cute. Bye.

  1. The i love the chronology of the events. It really depicts the event for you in a way similar to that of someone who is writing about their missed exchanges.

  2. Great idea. I love the black and white and the sequential pictures.

  3. I loved the black and white and the outfits. Very Audrey Hepburn. Very glamorous. Very well done.

  4. really cool idea. i feel kind of like a creeper watching a surveillance camera

  5. I love your use of what I am going to call "strobe light" photography. It's like I blinked and each photo that follows is what I saw. Using a male photographer was a good stylistic choice. Really great work.

  6. this is so fantastic. both the concept and the execution are perfect. Thanks for the inspiration.

  7. I think my favorite part of this is the idea of seriality. All of these photos are more like a collection, and the last two really emphasize that aspect. My favorite pictures are the ones with the yogurt because of that.

  8. Such an interesting way to put yourself into the work in a different way. I like the way you utilized such a contemporary source of inspiration: Craig's List. Genius.

  9. I like the series feel of the photos. Very private investigator-esque. Cool idea.

  10. The presentation of a series of photos has an amazing effect. Each photo I look at, I'm drawn to look back a photo or two for comparison. In the end, I think it holds my attention longer than just one or two images does.

    Neat concept.

  11. I really love the idea of your project. My favorite picture is under #4 when you just see your legs and the paper.

  12. This was an awesome idea! Definitely one of my favorites.

  13. I love that these images tell a story. The full essay is very engaging
