Unsung Heroes!

The first thing that came to my mind when we were given the assignment to photograph "small trades" was to photograph those people who contribute to our daily life and make everything easier, but whom we often take for granted. I thought it would be cool to catch them in the middle of their duties. Here is to our unsung heroes!

  1. I like the idea. Maybe play a little more with angles and cropping to give it a more artistic feel. Make sure every photo is making a statement. I love the colors in the produce.

  2. I really like pictures 3 and 4. The colors and the lines in both pictures are great. I really like the positioning in 4--the man in the left third of the photo and the vegetables extending back in on the right. I think the differing locations of your photos made the essay feel a little disjointed.

  3. I really like the one with the brightly colored vegetables!

  4. I loved photos 3 and 4, the colors in them were great. I think it might be cool to take them all in the grocery store and also tie them all together with the awesome colors.

  5. I think the title is too vague for capturing the few people and trades you did, but it's a great idea. Stick with the grocery store and get more people working there: the cart pushers, the night stocking crew, some of the dirty jobs which keep the store running. You varied your composition and angles enough just keep shooting to get enough pictures to tell a complete story.

  6. I liked the vibrancy of the colors and the framing in photos 3 and 4. Maybe if you kept that vibrancy throughout the rest of the photos the whole essay would be more fluid.

  7. I think I the photos except for the first one, are very interesting. What makes them heros though, perhaps you elaborate on that.

  8. I like the way you use a variety of different angles with the people. The interaction of the people with the camera really makes some of the photos. The use of color because of the setting is very interesting.
